Cooling panels are a modern solution for temperature control of food-grade liquids, used primarily in tanks and storage vessels.
They are manufactured entirely from AISI 304 food-grade stainless steel (AISI 316 available on request), in the form of panels with internal cooling channels or serpentine circuits, while the outer surface features a mirror-polished finish.
They are available in a wide range of sizes, from 0.36 m² up to 8.4 m², with a working pressure of 4 bar.
Cooling plates are one of the most cost-effective solutions for temperature-controlled wine fermentation, as they are inserted directly into the vessel containing the fermenting must.
The cooling medium can be:
- a glycol solution, circulated in a closed-loop system by a pump; or
- very cold water drawn from underground sources.
When cooling plates are used, it is recommended to carry out the process in an enclosed room, ideally climate-controlled, so that ambient temperature can also support the fermentation temperature management process.
The material thickness used in manufacturing is:
- 1.0 mm for panels with widths of 270 mm, 370 mm and 470 mm (up to 4,000 mm height);
- 1.2 mm for 470 mm panels above 4,000 mm height and for all 570 mm wide panels.
Two versions are available:
Pressed cooling plates
Panels formed with integrated pressed cooling channels.
Cooling plates with internal channels
Panels featuring internal linear cooling channels for liquid circulation.
Available sizes:
- Widths: 270 mm / 370 mm / 470 mm / 570 mm
- Heights: 600 mm to 7,000 mm
- Surface area: 0.36 m² to 8.4 m²
